Prof. Anat Loewenstein – Committee Member

A global leader in retinal innovation and artificial intelligence in ophthalmology. As Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Tel Aviv Sourasky (Ichilov) Medical Center and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, she has driven the integration of AI-based tools into retinal imaging, diagnosis, and clinical decision-making. Her research has advanced automated detection and monitoring of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, shaping the future of data-driven eye care. Professor Loewenstein continues to champion multidisciplinary collaboration between clinicians, engineers, and industry to accelerate the responsible adoption of AI in ophthalmology worldwide.

Dr. Omer Trivizki– Committee Member

Dr. Omer Trivizki, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Ichilov-Tech and Deputy Chair of Ophthalmology at Tel Aviv Medical Center, is a retina specialist and innovator in applying artificial intelligence to ophthalmic care. His work focuses on integrating AI to enhance diagnostics, streamline clinical workflows, and improve patient outcomes. A published expert on clinician–AI collaboration, Dr. Trivizki bridges clinical leadership with technological innovation, advancing the responsible and practical adoption of AI in eye care.

Dr. Benjamin Y. Xu – Speaker and Panelist

Dr. Benjamin Xu is a recognized leader in glaucoma care and innovation, focusing on preventing vision loss through advanced medical and surgical approaches. As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California, he leads research integrating artificial intelligence with non‑invasive ocular imaging to improve the early detection and management of primary angle‑closure glaucoma. His work advances AI‑driven diagnostic strategies in glaucoma and ocular epidemiology, contributing to more precise and personalized patient care. Dr. Xu is also deeply committed to medical education and has been widely recognized for excellence in both research and patient care.

Dr. Devinder Chauhan – Committee Member

Dr. Devinder Chauhan is an Australian retina specialist, researcher, and the founder and CEO of Macuject, an AI-powered decision support platform for retina specialists. His research spans OCT interpretation, biomarker analysis, AI-driven disease detection and real-world evidence generation through AI analysis. His retina practice accounts for nearly 10% of his state's intravitreal injections annually, and he sits on the Euretina consensus panel on AI in Retina. Dr. Chauhan's work sits at the intersection of clinical workflow, AI and real-world implementation, a vantage point built from years of translating research directly into practice.

Euan Thomson – Keynote Speaker

Euan Thomson is a healthcare leader with over 30 years of experience across CEO roles, venture capital, and medical technology innovation. He has held senior positions at Carl Zeiss Meditec, leading the Ophthalmology business and digital ecosystem, and at Johnson & Johnson, where he oversaw global R&D, digital technology, and advanced innovation. Previously, he led digital health initiatives at Samsung and was CEO of AliveCor, pioneering FDA-cleared algorithms for cardiac arrhythmia management. Earlier, as President and CEO of Accuray, he led the company from start-up to global leadership in robotic radiosurgery and through its IPO. Euan currently holds board and advisory roles focused on digital health, AI, and medical robotics, including Chair of Oviva, Venture Partner at 1955 Capital, and Senior Advisor at BCG. He holds a PhD in Medical Physics from the University of London.

Dr. Malvina Eydelman – Keynote Speaker

Dr. Malvina Eydelman is a globally recognized physician and regulatory leader shaping the pathway for medical innovation from concept to patient access. As CEO of the Collaborative Community on Ophthalmic Innovation (CCOI), she unites patients, clinicians, regulators, industry leaders, and investors to align standards, endpoints, and evidence frameworks that accelerate progress in ophthalmology. Over more than three decades at the U.S. FDA, Dr. Eydelman led multidisciplinary teams and helped define regulatory science and global standards for ophthalmic and medical devices. She continues to advance a globally aligned, innovation‑ready ecosystem through her leadership, AI‑accelerated strategy initiatives, and mentorship of the next generation of ophthalmic innovators.
